Teaching Philosophy

Kids Love Art classes brings the fundamentals of painting and drawing to a level that is accessible to children. Most good art projects are scalable from a beginning to advance levels. KLA teaches beginning to advance levels of painting and drawing for children.

We create a classroom environment that fosters creative thinking. Positive reinforcement is given when a student comes up with an original idea.

Our approach to teaching art is never a “canned” one. We do not use templates that guarantee a predicted result regardless of whether the students puts in an effort or not. Exploration and discovery on the part of the student is more likely to yield a truly beautiful and interesting result than a “canned” project. The class is process oriented where the final product is primarily to document the students creative process. We teach creativity by presenting a variety of solutions for a given challenge. The instructor also does demos at the beginning of each class. The instructor is there to share knowledge of technical and conceptual aspects of visual arts. For example, color theory, value scale. contours lines, perspective, process, materials, art history, and other terms are introduced through fun projects and audio visuals.

Learning to make art is very similar to learning a new language where you have to learn the vocabulary, grammar, nuances and cultural aspects of the language in order to fully express yourself.

Our class size is no more than 10 students. Our studio is spacious and fully equipped with the best art making materials and equipment.

We also offer adult painting classes.
